Family Justice Counsellors and Family Justice Centres
Family justice counsellors provide brief counselling services or mediation (including separate meetings) and can give you legal information. You can call Enquiry BC and ask the operator to connect you with a Family Justice Centre near you. You can also call the Family Justice Centre directly. Look in the blue pages of your telephone book under “Provincial Government” or visit Clicklaw.ca. Contact information is also on the Ministry of Justice website.

BC Justice Access Centres
The justice access centres are the place to visit when you need help with family law issues like separation, divorce, or child support. Expert staff provide information to help you understand court processes and they  provide access to Family Justice Counsellors. There are centres in Vancouver and Nanaimo – with Victoria opening soon. Centres are open Monday to Friday – check the websites for hours of operation.

Enquiry BC
Enquiry BC is a provincial call centre that provides services to all British Columbia residents on behalf of provincial government ministries, Crown corporations and public agencies. Family Maintenance Enforcement Program

Legal Services Society
The Legal Services Society (LSS) provides legal aid in British Columbia and they publish BC’s family law website portal. Their site has information and free publications for individuals dealing with family law matters. They can also help you if you can't afford a lawyer.

MediateBC
